”I have always been aware of rhythm. The rhythm(s) within us, the rhythm of our immediate environment and rhythm of the cosmos. It is simple to recognize rhythm as it relates to music. I attempt to enlist the elements of audible rhythm and translate those elements to painting. The repetition of shapes, values and hues are integral components of this expression.” — Mark Emerson
